The 1972 essay was uncovered by Mother Jones magazine. It was written by Sanders for the Vermont Freeman, an alternative newspaper, and discusses a rape fantasy from a man and a woman’s point.
Mother Jones reached out to Sanders’ campaign about these dangerous views and were told: “These articles were written more than 40 years ago. Like most people, Bernie’s views on many issues have changed over time,” wrote Sanders spokesman Michael Briggs in an email. I call BS. Sanders wrote this stuff when he was in his late 20’s.
